Whiteside played for the Grizzlies in 2008, 2009, and 2012. The native of New Albany, Miss. batted .233 (109-for-468) with 25 doubles, 9 home runs, and 66 RBIs in a Grizzlies uniform over 143 games in his career.
The catcher was a member of the San Francisco Giants during the playoffs of their 2010 World Series run.
